USA: From One End To The Other... And Back!: Camping Boot Camp in Paso Robles, CA

Så blev det nye campingudstyr sat på prøvelse :)

I weekenden tog vi med Jon, Heather og Joseph (Vicky's tidligere værtsfamilie) til Paso Robles, CA (ca. 3 timers kørsel sydover) Her camperede vi på en ranch sammen med masser af andre mennesker og havde en rigtig sjov weekend fyldt med go' grillmad, skyderi, hunde i massevis og selvfølgelig vores store test i "Campinglivet" og dets prøvelser.

Vi så det som en go' mulighed for at "træne" os selv og tog det hele som lidt af en udfordring. Bortset fra at have glemt luftmadrassen hjemme, gik alt storartet og vi ser os nu yderst klar til campinglivet på 1. klasse... :) Pressening, telt, luftmadras, elektrisk pumpe, soveposer, puder, tæpper, stole, gas-grill, lanterne, lommelygter osv. venter nu bare på, for alvor at blive taget i brug :)

Mandag og tirsdag blev brugt på at tømme de sidste ting ud fra vores respektive værelser og så blev der ellers handlet ind i stor stil i både Costco og Walmart! Dermed skulle alting være klar til vores tur og så var det ellers bare lige bilen som skulle pakkes... Lad os bare sige det var og vil blive, noget af en udfordring med alt det der skal stoppes ind i den fra dag til dag! Men det er jo det der er en del af alt det sjove :)

The big camping-gear test :)

This past weekend we went with Jon, Heather and Joseph (Vicky's former host family) to Paso Robles, CA (a 3 hour drive south) Here we camped at a ranch with lots of other people and had ourselves a real fun weekend, filled with delicious food off the grill, shooting, bunches of dogs and of course our big test in "the life of camping" and all that goes with it.

We saw it as a great opportunity to "practice" ourselves and took the whole situation as quite a challenge. Except from having left the air mattress at home, everything went grand and we now see ourselves as very prepared and ready for lots of 1st class camping... :) Tarp, tent, air mattress, electric pump, sleeping bags, pillows, blankets, chairs, gas grill, lantern, flashlights etc. are just waiting to be put in to use for real :)

Monday and Tuesday were spent cleaning out the last things from our respective rooms and from there we shopped big time at Costco and Walmart! With that everything should be ready and set for our trip and only thing left was packing the car... Lets just say that was -and will be, quite a challenge with all the stuff we have to fit in there on a daily basis! But that's just part of the fun right :)
