Los Altos, CA --> Sacramento, CA: 227km
Så blev der for alvor taget hul på vores tur, med start i Los Altos kl 8:00 onsdag morgen. Vi havde planlagt et par stop undervejs, med Sacramento som endelig mål for dagen. Ikke så meget kørsel første dag, men en del fik vi set og en go' dag var det :)
I bilen bookede vi motel for natten... -Meget smart med iPad, internet osv. :) Besluttede os for kun at køre til Sacramento og dermed ha' go' tid til at besøge en af Californiens 21 missioner, slikfabrikken Jelly Belly, UC Davis (universitet) og sidst men ikke mindst, statens hovedstad! Hyggelig og flot by, med en yderst smuk Capitol Bygning, hvor vi endda var så heldige at overvære sådan en forsamling af senatorer der havde til formål at "gennemfører" (?) nye love mv... Ret interessant!! :)
Aftenen blev som sagt tilbragt på førnævnte motel, lidt uden for centrum. (Vi valgte det som en nem start og taget vejret og prisen i betragtning, kan man vist kun være tilfreds) På motellet fuldførte vi vores første dag uden "take-out mad"... :) Med sandwich og kop-nudler på værelset! Selvfølgelig lavet ved hjælp af nyindkøbte og medbragte el-keddel! :)

Wednesday morning at 8am, we started our trip for real. We had a few stops planned on the way to Sacramento, being the final goal for our 1st day. Not so much driving, but we got to see quite a bit and we had a very nice day :)
In the car we booked a motel for the night... -Very smart with iPad, internet access etc. :) Decided only to go to Sacramento and thereby have well enough time to visit Mission San Jose, The Jelly Belly Factory, UC Davis and of course the capital itself! Very cozy and nice looking city, with a beautiful Capitol Building, where we happened to see the senate passing laws and so on... (?) (Very important people for sure... haha) But also very interesting :)
The night was as written, spent at the previous mentioned motel, slightly outside the city center. (We chose it as an easy start and weather + price considered, we couldn't be happier) At the motel we completed our first day with no take-out food whatsoever... :) (Yay!!) Homemade sandwiches and cup noodles made for our very first, as well as very cheap, dinner! Of course done with the help of our newly bought kettle from Costco!

1. Nat blev tilbragt på et billigt motel i Sacramento med sandwich of kop-nudler til middag!
