Efter en behagelig nat på vores “go’e gamle” motel i Des Moines udenfor Seattle, satte vi kurs mod Montana, nærmere betegnet Bozeman, et par timer udenfor Yellowstone National Park. Vi kørte hele dagen, fra 8 morgen til ca. 19 aften, hvilket vil sige den faktisk var 20, idet Montana ligger i en anden tidszone end Washington, Oregon, Californien mv. Ikke så rart at miste en time i ny og næ, nu dagene og især aftenerne, virker alt for korte i forvejen!! På vores tur mod østkysten kommer vi til at miste 3 timer i alt... Heldigvis ikke det hele på samme dag og så kan man jo kun se frem til at få dem tilbage igen, nu vi engang vender om og kører vest på igen :)
Efter at have forladt Washington og hurtigt krydset Idaho, gjorde vi et stop midt på dagen i Spokane, Montana. Vi handlede endnu engang fornødenheder i et Wal-Mart Supercenter, som må siges at være meget populært på disse kanter. Lidt hurtig frokost blev det også til og så var det afsted igen... Væk fra al civilisation! Ja det er ik’ for der sker så meget på de kanter heroppe nord på... Men flot er det nu :) Og extra tid til at opdatere blog i bilen er der også...!! :)
Vi ville oprindeligt campere i en lille by kaldet Deer Lodge, endnu længere udenfor Yellowstone end Bozeman. Damen i telefonen var dog meget flink om at oplyse at det øsregnede netop der og at det havde gjort det hele natten og meget vel ville forsætte sådan resten af dagen med. Derfor blev det til endnu et motel, som i denne omgang var yderst tilfredstillende i forhold til værelset mv. Dog intet internet...!! Hotellets wi-fi (eller var det naboens) virkdede nærmest ikke og André’s telefon var udenfor dækning og derfor heller intet internet den vej...!! Alt det resulterede i at klokken nærmest blev tæt ved 01, før motel til næste dag var booket! Ovenikøbet lang ud over vores budget... Men det må man jo også ta’ med, nu vejret ikke er på vores side :)
Des Moines, WA --> Bozeman, MT: 652miles
After a comfortable night at our “good old” motel in Des Moines outside Seattle, we headed for Montana, -more specifically Bozeman, a couple of hours outside Yellowstone National Park. We drove all day from 8 morning to about 7pm at night, which actually turned out to be 8pm, as Montana is in a different timezone than Washington, Oregon, California etc. Not very nice to loose an hour here and there, now that the days and especially the evenings, seem too short as it is!! On our way to the east coast we’ll loose a total of 3 hours... Luckily not all of them at once.. :) Guess we could also look forward to gaining them back again, once turning around and heading back west :)
After leaving Washington and quickly crossing thru Idaho, we made a stop in Spokane. Once again we picked up necessities at a Walmart Supercenter, which are quite the deal around these parts of the country.... + Got some quick lunch and then off again... Away from all civilization! It’s not cause much is happening up here in the northern US... But it does look nice :) An a little extra time to update the blog in the car doesn’t hurt either...!! :)
Originally we wanted to camp in a small town called Deer Lodge, even further outside Yellowstone, compared to Bozeman. The lady on the phone was very kind though and informed us that it was pouring down rain there and had been all night... And most likely would continue all day. That’s why we went with yet another motel... Which happened to be very satisfying in terms of the room etc... Though no internet!! The motel’s wifi (or was it the neighbor’s wifi) practically didn’t work at all and André’s phone was without coverage, so no internet there either...!! All this resulted in the clock almost turning 1am before a motel for the next day was booked! And on top of that, it was by far exceeding our budget... But that we have to deal with as well, now that the weather is not really in our favor :)
